oxides over the 0.015–2.506 MeV energy interval, where the Monte Carlo
simulation code was utilized to assess the gamma-ray shielding parameters.
The linear attenuation coefficients of the studied metal oxides varied in the
ranges of 65.556–0.039 cm(ZnO), 61.007–0.039 cm(Zn0.5Ni0.5O), and
56.050–0.040 cm (NiO). Therefore, the increased ZnO concentration
within the composite decreases the radiation shielding properties at low
energy intervals, while increasing them at high gamma-ray energy.
